      Continental is gevestigd in Hannover in Duitsland. Met meer dan veertig fabrieken, onderzoekcentra en testbanen bezet Continental de vierde plaats op de wereldranglijst voor bandenproducenten. Momenteel worden bij een op de vier nieuwe auto’s in Europa Continental banden gemonteerd.

      Veiligheid en innovatie zijn de belangrijkste punten van dit merk. Continental werkt samen met grote namen als Daimler-Benz en Porsche in de autosport, hetgeen resulteerde in het behalen van meerder Grand Prix snelheidsrecords.

      In 2002 ging Continental een samenwerking aan met concurrent Bridgestone om zo tot de ontwikkeling te komen van een run flat band.

      Vind banden

    Runflat banden hebben een stuggere zijwand dan normale banden. Hierdoor kunt u doorrijden als uw band leeg is. Deze technologie wordt met name gebruikt op BMW´s en Minis en kunt u herkennen aan een symbool of teken van de fabrikant (vb. RFT, SSR, RSC of ROF).

    Sommige voertuigen hebben banden nodig die een groter draagvermogen hebben. Deze informatie kan aan de zijkant van de band worden gevonden en wordt aangegeven met Extra Load (XL) of Reinforced (RF).

    Select the load index for your tyre. This number shows the maximum weight the tyre can carry at the speed indicated by its speed rating symbol. The load index can be found on the tyre side wall next to the speed rating e.g. 88
